Why choose a natural swimming pool?
They can look like a more traditional swimming pool or blend seamlessly into the landscape like a pond or lagoon.
They support biodiversity. attracting dragonflies, birds and many other animals, while staying safe for swimming.
They are chemical free, instead of chlorine or salt, the water is purified by aquatic plants and natural filtration systems.
After setup they generally require less ongoing costs.
Think of it as a living pool- clear, swimmable water that feels like a pristine mountain lake but designed for your garden.
How natural swimming pools work:
A natural swimming pool has two main zones:
1. Swimming Zone – The part where you swim, similar in size and depth to a conventional pool.
2. Regeneration Zone – A shallow area with aquatic plants and biological filters. This is where natural processes remove impurities, just like in a pond or wetland.
Water continuously circulates between these two zones. Microorganisms, beneficial bacteria, and plant roots break down contaminants, while gravel and other filter media physically trap particles.
